Vinylester RTM resin
Description
R500I series is formulated from a high-performance vinylester resin designed specifically for closed-mold processes such as RTM (Resin Transfer Molding) and Light-RTM.
This resin provides enhanced mechanical and chemical resistance, combined with a controlled viscosity profile that allows efficient mold filling and uniform reinforcement wet-out.
It ensures consistent laminate consolidation and improved durability, including excellent resistance to water absorption and osmosis.
Product Characteristics:
- Low viscosity optimized for RTM and closed-mold processing
- Excellent wet-out of fiberglass reinforcements
- Higher mechanical performance compared to conventional polyester resins
- Very good chemical and osmosis resistance
- Controlled gel time and consistent curing performance
- Good bonding between layers
- Suitable for pigmenting and gelcoat lamination
Primary Applications:
R550 series is recommended for the manufacturing of high-performance composite parts requiring controlled geometry and strong durability, such as:
- Transportation components (rail systems, buses, specialty vehicles, RVs, etc.)
- Marine and boat structural components
- FRP tanks, piping, and industrial equipment
- Water park and aquatic structures
- Parts exposed to moisture or corrosive environments
