Our Vinyl Ester Barrier Coat was developed from special thixotropic vinyl ester resins.
This coating acts as a barrier coat between the laminate and the gelcoat. This formulation provides superior osmosis resistance along with enhanced thermal and cracking resistance properties.
Sogel’s Vinyl Ester Barrier Coats allow accelerating the cure and the demoulding time, while strongly reducing the risk of print through, orange peel and blisters on gelcoat surface.
Features
The advanced technology of Sogel Vinyl Ester Barrier Coat provides them with the following properties:
- Low shrinking
- Full cure in thin layers
- Reduced demolding time
- Improved cure of gelcoat
- Increased impact resistance
- Improved osmosis and Blister resistance
- Significant reduction of print through
- Drastically reduced repair time
Applications
Sogel’s Vinyl Ester Barrier Coats have been designed for use in the manufacturing of transportation parts, in the construction industry of swimming pools and water parks and other composite parts using hand lay-up or spray-up application methods.
