Founded in 2000, Sogel Inc. is created by Mr. Claude Pilon, a leading chemist in the gel coat industry. Sogel is a North American specialist in the innovation, formulation and development of high technology gel coats. It offers a vast line of specialized products for the composite industries. For instance, Sogel is a pioneer in the development of gel coats for different styrene free backing (polyurethane, epoxy and Twintex® technologies).
PEPIN Industries acquires SOGEL and rebrands GELCO
Pepin Industries, a leading name in the coating manufacturing industry, acquires SOGEL, a renowned gelcoat manufacturer, completed in March 2023. This strategic acquisition marks a significant milestone in Pepin Industries’ growth and expansion in the gelcoat market. As part of this acquisition, Pepin Industries will rebrand its new gelcoat division as GELCO. Claude Pilon will remain with the team and will pass along its knowledge on product development to Pepin’s experienced team of chemists.
